As most of you already know, Tomohiko and Mayumi were legally married in Japan on July 7th of last year by registering their marriage at the City Hall in Ichikawa-city, Chiba, which is Tomohiko's home town. Today, ten months later, for the very first time, they are about to make their vows in the presence of their closest family and friends to symbolize their beginning all over again. The style of today's ceremony is called Jinzen. It is similar to an Amercian civil wedding, but the Jinzen wedding doesn't have a licensed performer to officiate the ceremony. Tomohiko and Mayumi have requested your presence at this ceremony in order that you will witness the pledging of their everlasting love and commitment.They also want you to recognize that this ceremony is also to celebrate the union of their two families. Let us pray in silence as we wish them all the happiness in their life together.

Before beginning the reception, Tomohiko and Mayumi would like to ask you to do something special for them. As you can see in front of you, there is a white cake on each table, which were hand made by their family and friends. They would like you to decorate these cakes within the next hour. Tomo and Mayumi will then visit each table, take a look at your decorations and decide which is their favorite. Then they will cut that favorite cake.
